Chloridizing roast

Converts sulphides or oxides to water soluble chlorides in the presence of chlorine gas or other chlorides.

Examples:

  • MeS + 2NaCl + 2O2 → MeCl2 + Na2SO4
  • MeO + Cl2 → MeCl2 + 1/2O2
