IGME, Greece

The Institute of Geology and Mineral Exploration (IGME) is the national geological survey of Greece, originally founded in 1952 under a different name. It is by legislation the State’s technical adviser in all geoscientific matters. Its fundamental aim is the geological study of the country, and the exploration - evaluation of the mineral raw materials (excluding hydrocarbons) and groundwater resources. The following departments will be involved in BioMinE: Mineral Processing Dpt., Mineralogy-Petrology Dpt., Technico-economic studies Dpt., Analytical services Dpt., Economic Geology Dpt and the peripheral branches of IGME.
