Life Cycle Assessment (or life cycle analysis) is an objective process used to evaluate the environmental burdens associated with a product, process, or activity. There are two main steps in a Life Cycle Assessment:

  • Identification of the energy and materials used and wastes released to the environment during the life of the product, process or activity.
  • Assessment of the impact of these emissions and raw material depletion.
