Microbial consortium

A two- (or more) membered microbe culture (or natural assemblage) in which each organism benefits from the others by certain types of interactions. Closely related to a microbial consortium is the phenomenon of microbial succession.

Questions to answer

Bioleaching is more effective when certain heterotrophs and chemolithotrophs are living together in a consortium. Why?
