My main researches are focused to remediation of heavy metal ions and toxic anions in groundwater and sub-surface waters using microbial and chemical reactions. Sulfate-reducing bacteria is very common in anaerobic environments and has a potential to immobilize a wide range of heavy metals with sulfate which often comes from acid mine drainages.
