  • Acid rock generation (ARG) implies
    • exposure of sulfide minerals to air and moisture by any cause, natural or man-made. A natural cause may for example be a volcanic eruption. Anthropogenic causes may be for example mining activities or road construction.
    • formation of acidity and metal ions by bioleaching
